MY ARTWORKS

WILD AND FREE

Size: Small canvas, approximately handheld size.
Technique: Oil painting on canvas
Year: 2024

This painting is a personal project inspired by my deep love for horses. Riding them fills me with a sense of freedom and vitality, and I’ve always felt a deep connection to their wild and untamed spirit. Horses have been a source of inspiration since I was young, symbolizing freedom and strength.

For me, this painting reflects my inner self and my desire to break free from the confines of the world, to embrace the exhilaration and joy that horses embody. It’s not just a tribute to their beauty, but also a visual expression of the liberation and energy they inspire in my heart.

BENEATH THE PAINT

Size: Medium canvas.
Technique: Oil painting on canvas.
Year: 2023

This piece was created in early 2023 as a practice for painting in oil. It marks one of my first explorations with this medium, focusing on form, expression, and precision. The artwork captures a striking and emotive face, where the painted clown features blur the line between concealment and revelation. Rather than masking emotions, the makeup seems to expose a deeper truth, inviting the viewer to reflect on what lies beneath the surface. This painting represents my early journey into oil painting and experimentation with its possibilities.

THE ROOSTER

Size: Medium canvas.
Technique: Oil painting on canvas.
Year: 2024

This painting of a rooster is more than a simple practice in color and texture—it represents exploration, growth, and the pursuit of creative mastery. The vibrant hues of green, orange, and red reflect the rooster’s symbolic association with confidence, strength, and the dawning of new beginnings. Set against a dark background, the vivid colors evoke contrast and balance, emphasizing the subject’s prominence and energy.

Through bold, textured brushstrokes, the painting highlights the organic beauty of nature while allowing room for creative interpretation. Each layer of paint became an opportunity to play with depth, light, and the tactile essence of feathers, resulting in a work that feels both lively and grounded.

EL POTRERO

Size: Medium canvas.
Technique: Oil painting on canvas.
Year: 2023

This oil painting is a heartfelt recreation of a treasured childhood moment. Based on an old photograph, it captures a day spent on my grandmother’s paddock (potrero), where my siblings and I enjoyed riding horses under her care. The setting, brimming with greenery and framed by the rustic shelter, evokes the warmth and simplicity of those early days.

Created as a farewell gift, this artwork holds special meaning for both my grandmother and me. As I prepared to leave for university, I wanted to leave behind a tangible memory of our shared experiences—a piece of my heart painted with gratitude and love. Through this painting, I hope to preserve the beauty of those fleeting moments and express my enduring connection to my roots and family.
